The Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation continues the work of the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders (the Kerner Riot Commission, formed after the 1960s riots in large cities) and the National Commission on the Causes and Prevention of Violence (the National Violence Commission, formed after the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy It is a nonprofit organization, located in Washington, D.C.; the President and Chief Executive Officer is Alan Curtis.
